ANDREA SHAW ORTIZ

Attorney at Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana. She has attended the Intellectual Property Clinics given by the Mexican Association for the Protection of Industrial Property (AMPPI). 

She joined BC&B in 2017.

Andrea focus her practice of Industrial Property mainly on the filing and prosecution related to the registration of distinctive signs before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, as well as carrying out availability trademark searches, trademark registrability analysis, assignment of rights, and exhaustive advice on these matters.

CARLOS GONZÁLEZ CORTÉS

He obtained his Degree in Law in 2004 from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) and he focuses his practice in Intellectual Property. He joined BC&B in 2012 and has more than 15 years of experience in the IP field.

His practice is focused in copyright advice, filing, prosecution, availability searches, reply to requirements and objections, filing oppositions and defense of oppositions by third parties, preparing and recording assignments, license agreements and other agreements, as well as preparing due diligences and protection and defense strategies on IP rights, among other activities.

EMILIO ALBARRÁN NÚÑEZ

He is an Attorney at Law graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in 2011, and Specialized in Intellectual Property in 2015. 

He has more than 13 years of experience in providing IP legal advice.

Emilio focuses his practice in trademark advice, filing, assignment and protection of distinctive signs –namely, trademarks, slogans and commercial names – at the Mexican Trademark Office (IMPI), and of copyrights at INDAUTOR

MARIA ELENA FERNÁNDEZ GONZÁLEZ

Attorney at Law graduated from the Universidad Nuevo Mundo in 2001. She has been working for 16 years, 11 of them focused on Intellectual Property. 

She joined BC&B in 2013, where she has specialized in IP consulting as well as carrying out the registration process of distinctive signs before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), starting from the registrability analysis, until obtaining the corresponding registration certificate, responding as well to the official actions issued in its case during said process. Likewise, she participates in opposition processes, as well as in the recordal of corporate changes in the ownership of distinctive signs before the IMPI.

She has under her responsibility the analysis, prosecution, monitoring, oppositions and response to official actions, and objections issued by the IMPI.

STEFI LEUNIG CHAVERO

Stefi is an Attorney at Law graduated from the Universidad Anáhuac de Puebla and joined BC&B in 2016. 

She has more than 10 years of practice in different areas of Law, including Intellectual Property, in addition to having published articles related to the protection of industrial and intellectual property rights in different media.

Her practice is focused in the recordal of Assignment and transfer of ownership of trademarks, other distinctive signs and patents. Also, she is responsible of the report, analysis and response of office actions issued by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property.
